Bachelors of Education, or B.Ed., is a two-year full-time degree program that is required for candidates interested in teaching or other related fields. A few colleges even offer this course as a two-year distance learning or correspondence course. Previously known as Bachelor of Training [BT] or ‘Siksha Shastri' at some universities. The B.Ed syllabus is designed to meet the psychological needs of students while also emphasizing various teaching methods. From a teaching standpoint, students in the B.Ed. program receive professional training in both art and science subjects All teachers in primary and secondary schools must have a bachelor's degree in education. The National Council for Teacher Education is a statutory body that oversees and regulates teacher education courses throughout the country.

Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
Candidates with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in a relevant field of study are eligible to apply for the B.Ed program at a number of reputable institutions/universities. To be eligible to apply for various B.Ed entrance, graduates must have received 50 percent to 55 percent in their qualifying degree exam, while postgraduates must have received at least 55 percent in their respective qualifying degree exam. Some universities and colleges hold entrance exams to select candidates based on their performance on the entrance exam. The majority of the exams are held in the months of May or June.
